Features · Where customers come from
See which traffic source brings paying customers
Most analytics tells you which source sends the most visitors. Clerion also tells you which source sends the visitors who pay. Send a value with the event that means someone paid, and a card on the Custom events page lists every source with its visitors, how many paid, the pay rate and the revenue. A source with few visitors and most of the revenue stands out at once.
What you see
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Source | An assistant such as chatgpt.com, a referring site, a tagged campaign, or Direct |
| Visitors | People who arrived from that source in the period |
| Paid | How many of them sent a payment event |
| Pay rate | Paid as a share of visitors |
| Revenue | What they paid, in your most common currency |
The bar behind each row is its share of the period's revenue, so the ranking is visible before you read a number. The same figures reach the briefing and Ask Clerion, so "which channel brings paying customers?" is answered from them.
How a payment is credited
Clerion is cookie-free by default and keeps no identifier between visits, so a payment is credited to the source of the visit it happened in. Someone who first came from ChatGPT and paid days later after typing your address counts under Direct for that payment.
With the optional consent banner on, visitors who accept are followed across visits, and their payments are credited to their first visit in the period.
Limits
| Limit | What it means |
|---|---|
| Your events, not your bank | Revenue is whatever your payment event reports. Clerion does not connect to Stripe or another provider, so it shows no MRR, churn or refunds. |
| Inside the period | A customer whose first visit was before the selected range is credited to their first visit inside it. |
| Needs a page view | A payment from someone with no page view in the period has no source and is left out. |

Questions
Does it work without a cookie banner?
Yes. Each payment is credited to the visit it happened in. The banner only adds following a visitor across visits.
Can I see revenue from ChatGPT on its own?
Yes. Each assistant has its own row with its own pay rate and revenue.
Why is Direct so high?
On the cookie-free setup, people who return by typing your address to pay count as Direct for that visit. The consent banner changes that for visitors who accept.
